Paid remote work, on your own hours
Jwuma pays people to prepare the data AI systems learn from. You choose which tasks to take and when to do them. Joining is free, training is included, and every task shows what it pays before you accept it.
Which work would suit you
The most common reason an application goes nowhere is that somebody applied for the wrong kind of work. Three questions will point you at a sensible place to start.
What you need to start
A computer or a phone
Most tasks work on either. Collection tasks are done on a phone. Transcription is easier with headphones, and a keyboard you are comfortable on matters more than a fast one.
A steady connection
Enough to load audio or images and upload your work. Nothing unusual, and nothing that needs fibre.
A language you know well
Including languages with little data behind them. If you write a language that is rarely represented online, that is a strength here rather than a footnote.
Time you can commit
A few hours a week is enough to start. There is no minimum and no penalty for taking a week off, but accuracy is measured on what you do submit.
Try a transcription task
Transcription is not typing what you hear. It is applying a house style consistently, which is what a reviewer actually checks. Here is a short one with the audio written out.
How pay works
Pay is set per task rather than per hour, and the rate is on the listing before you accept it. What a task pays depends on the kind of work, the languages involved and how much review it needs.
Accept a task
The rate is shown first. Nothing is assigned to you without your say.
Do the work
Within the time the task allows. Release it if you cannot finish, and it goes back to the pool.
It gets reviewed
A reviewer checks it. If something needs fixing you are told what and why, and you can fix it.
You are paid
Accepted work is added to your balance and paid out on a regular cycle to the method you choose.
Getting better work over time
Accuracy is measured on the work you actually do, and you can see your own score with every component and how many observations it is based on. Promotion follows those measurements, and a person makes the decision.

Jwuma never asks anyone to pay to work, to pay for training, or to pay for equipment. There is no fee to join and no deposit. If a site claiming to be us asks you for money, it is not us. Our only contributor platform is platform.corpshore.ai, and we are operated by Corpshore AI.

What kind of work is on Jwuma?
The work is AI data work. That includes transcribing audio, translating between languages, labelling images and text, collecting speech or photo samples, and reviewing other contributors' work. Some projects also need subject knowledge, such as medicine, law or software.
Do you need experience to join Jwuma?
No experience is needed for most projects. You apply, upload a CV, and take a short course for the type of work you want to do. Some specialist projects do ask for a professional background, and those say so on the listing.
What equipment do you need for Jwuma work?
For most tasks you need a computer or a smartphone and a reliable internet connection. Transcription work is easier with headphones. Photo and speech collection tasks are done on a phone.
How many hours a week do you have to work?
There is no minimum. You choose which tasks to take and when to do them. Availability from a few hours a week up to full time is normal, and you say which suits you when you apply.
How long does approval take?
Applications are reviewed by a person, not automatically. You will hear back by email with a decision, and if you are approved you will be guided through setting up your account and your first course.
